The dead branch of Csicsó

It is situated in the central part of the Rye island, westly from the commune Číčov with a lovely scenario of a riparian land and it represents also the dead branch of the Danube with a variety of water biocenose and a unique flora and fauna. .

The core of this region is the dead branch itself, which appeared on the north-east part of the Danube in the last century. The water surface is influenced mainly by the near Danube and the depth of the water is 3 - 7,5m. It belongs to the regions with the hottest and driest climate - its absolute altitude is 112m above the sea level. In the south-west part we can find a culture heath with shruberry formation and places with dense coppice of rattans and salixes.
